COMMUNITY CREW UP

COMMUNITY CREW UP is NOVAC's program to connect locals around the country with opportunities on set.  In Louisiana, we provide access to on-set experiences and paid opportunities, and around the country, we partner with HBO, Warner Bros and Turner Broadcasting to find diverse talent interested in working behind the scenes in some of Hollywood's most engaging and inclusive production environments.

NOVAC is excited to announce our Delta Regional Authority (DRA) -funded Film Industry Workforce Training in partnership with Film New Orleans. Training is FREE and open to Louisiana residents  (18 yrs old +). 

Prospective participants are required to complete an application and may be asked to interview for placement in the training. Participants that complete post-training requirements will be eligible to referred to film-industry positions as productions reach out to NOVAC for their hiring needs. And, participants gain NOVAC membership for one year.

This training will introduce the basics of accounting and payroll for film and tv production. Participants will gain the confidence and knowledge to successfully start a career in the accounting/payroll department as a clerk.

New Orleans Video Access Center, is the Gulf South’s longest operating media arts nonprofit.  We believe storytellers empower communities, so we empower storytellers. NOVAC’s work consists of three pillars: youth media education, film/tv industry workforce development and independent filmmaker services.  NOVAC work is Louisiana-based with  offices in New Orleans and Baton Rouge. 


We want to continue to provide access to eduction, training, opportunities, and sustainable career pathways through our Workforce Development program, that said we will be building NOVAC’s capacity by bringing on a Workforce Program Coordinator

Workforce Program Coordinator Job At-A-Glance 

The Workforce Program Coordinator will act as a conduit between NOVAC’s youth program and local and national Film & TV industry workforce development programs. The Workforce Program Coordinator will provide programmatic assistance and support with participant recruitment, delivering training programs, and job placement support. The Workforce Program Coordinator will report directly to the Workforce Program Director and the Media Education Director. This position is based in NOVAC’s Baton Rouge office.


Who Should Apply

Career Readiness professionals with two to five years of non-profit programming, skills training, workforce development, or HR experience and a background/ interest in film, storytelling, youth/YA development and equity.
