Video Editing Apprenticeship Pilot Application

NOVAC is launching a Video Editor Pre-apprenticeship training for twelve young people ages 16-20 years old. Unlike a traditional workforce training program, the pre-apprenticeship training is an intensive and rigorous hands-on experience meant to prepare young people to pursue a  career in editing for the film/tv industry and beyond. 

Training Schedule

Delivery Mode: In-person 

Location: NOVAC (4422 S. Carrollton Ave.) 

Orientation Schedule: Thursday-Saturday from 10am to 5pm

Class Schedule: Wednesday 1-4pm & Saturday 10am-5pm

Office Hours: Wednesday 12-1pm

Program Eligibility

  • Resident of Greater New Orleans area 
  • 16-20 years old

Timeline

Jan 17: Application goes live

Feb 17: Application closes

Feb 20-21: Applicant Interviews

Feb 24-26: Accept / Reject Notifications 

Mar 8-10: Orientation (attendance required)

Mar 12: First Day of Training 

May 17: Last day of Training


Program Commitment

  • Required 3-day, 18-hour orientation
  • 10 hours per week for 10 weeks 
  • 80% attendance 
  • 80% completion of assignments
