Video Editing Pre-Apprenticeship

An intensive training program for young people (16-24) starting out in digital media and interested in joining the creative workforce. Meant to expose students to professional post-production workflows and deepen media literacy, the video editing pre-apprenticeship training explores three genres of editing; narrative, documentary, and commercial. 

Schedule

Delivery Mode: Hybrid 

Location: NOVAC (4422 S. Carrollton Ave.) 

Schedule: 22 weeks of training from October to April includes

  • Virtual Sessions: Wednesdays 4-7pm 
  • In-Person Sessions: Saturdays 10am-6pm
  • Plus asynchronous assignments (~4-8 hrs/week)

Program Eligibility

  • Ages 16-24
  • Resident of Southeast Louisiana

Sep 1: Application goes live

Sep 21: Application closes

Sep 24-26: Applicant Interviews

Sep 30: Accept / Reject Notifications 

Oct 4: Orientation Day 1 - Premiere Pro 101 (required)

Oct 11: Orientation Day 2 (required)

Oct 18: Pre-Apprenticeship begins

Apr 18: Last day of Pre-Apprenticeship

Program Commitment

  • Attend Required Orientation (10/4 & 10/11) 
  • 80% Attendance 
  • 80% Coursework
