COMMUNITY CREW UP

COMMUNITY CREW UP is NOVAC's program to connect locals around the country with opportunities on set.  In Louisiana, we provide access to on-set experiences and paid opportunities, and around the country, we partner with HBO, Warner Bros and Turner Broadcasting to find diverse talent interested in working behind the scenes in some of Hollywood's most engaging and inclusive production environments.

NOVAC is seeking an experienced and passionate Video Editing Instructor to teach an intensive video editing pre-apprenticeship pilot program March - May 2025.

Job Requirements:

  • This is a 14 week commitment to prepare and close out curriculum 
  • Ability to work Saturdays (6 hours) for the duration of the 11-week course, with additional hours for field trips and industry experiences.
  • Strong commitment to creating a positive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Must pass a background check and be able to work with youth in a professional capacity.

Compensation: $10,000 stipend. Competitive salary commensurate with experience. Additional benefits may apply.

Open call for short films by Indigenous Filmmakers in the Gulf South!

Selected films will be screened at our next CRESCENT CINEMA SERIES event, with a follow up Q&A with the filmmakers. Selected filmmakers will be provided with a stipend (pending their availability to attend the event in person).

CRESCENT CINEMA SERIES is presented by NOVAC and supported in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.

NOVAC is excited to announce our Delta Regional Authority (DRA) -funded Film Industry Workforce Training in partnership with Film New Orleans. Training is FREE and open to Louisiana residents  (18 yrs old +). 

Prospective participants are required to complete an application and may be asked to interview for placement in the training. Participants that complete post-training requirements will be eligible to referred to film-industry positions as productions reach out to NOVAC for their hiring needs. And, participants gain NOVAC membership for one year.

This training will introduce the basics of accounting and payroll for film and tv production. Participants will gain the confidence and knowledge to successfully start a career in the accounting/payroll department as a clerk.
